From Filing Cabinet to Classroom
This session, From Filing Cabinet to Classroom: Teaching Through Your LMS, was designed to help educators rethink how their LMS functions in the learning experience. Instead of serving as a place to store materials, the session introduces a “digital co-teacher” model, where the LMS actively guides, reinforces, and supports student learning.
During the session, participants explored practical, high-impact strategies such as creating predictable module structures, embedding checks for understanding, and using LMS tools to support differentiation and reteaching. The experience included a hands-on redesign sprint, where educators applied these strategies to an upcoming lesson.
To support implementation beyond the session, I developed a Strategy Toolkit of classroom-ready job aids that participants could immediately use in their own courses. These resources were designed to be practical, easy to apply, and focused on reducing teacher workload while improving clarity and student independence.
